In the autumn of 1926, Francesc Macià led an attempted armed invasion of Catalonia in order to achieve its liberation and be able to proclaim its independence, at the head of a few hundred young patriots linked to the Estat Català organization which he presided over. That attempt, known over the years as "Els fets de Prats de Molló'', had its epicenter in the northern Catalan town of Prats de Molló, in Vallespir, and more specifically in the town known as Vil·la Denise . The building has been restored thanks to private patronage, the Associació Amics de Casa Macià, with members from the north and south of the country, organizes annual National History and Debate Days, with the aim of recovering the historical memory and facilitate useful reflections for our national future.
The work collects the texts of the presentations and communications of the 1st Days of National History and Debate presented by Berenguer Ballester, Josep-Lluís Carod-Rovira, Lluís Duran, Joan Peytaví Deixona, Jaume Renyer Alimbau, Alfons Romero Dalmau and Fermí Rubiralta and Houses
The volume collects the texts of the presentations and communications of the first edition and is, therefore, a first-hand view of events and characters that attracted the attention of the world. It therefore studies "Northern Catalonia at the beginning of the 20th century. Brief political, socio-economic and cultural point" (Joan Peytaví Deixona), "November 4, 1926: what happened?" (Lluís Duran), "Bordas de la Cuesta, the forgotten staff of Macià" (Josep-Lluís Carod-Rovira), "Notes on the trial in Paris for the events of Prats de Molló" (Jaume Renyer Alimbau) , "The international action of Francesc Macià and the Catalan State (1922-1931)" (Fermí Rubiralta and Casas), "Martí Vilanova Purcalles, an intensely short life (1896-1930)" (Alfons Romero Dalmau) and "Josep Marlés and Pere Marmer, memory of two conspirators" (Berenguer Ballester).
