This book has two closely linked thematic parts. On the one hand, it analyzes the historical evolution and the process of social ascent of the family of the Count of Ròtova, which, from rather discreet origins, achieved a noble title in 1800. On the other hand , a complete characterization of the noble archive of the county of Ròtova is made available to researchers. Despite the negative consequences of the expulsion of the Moors in 1609, this event provided a window of opportunity for several characters who, using different resources, became rich, occupied plots of power and achieved noble distinctions . Such as the descendants of Joan Escrivà, farmer of La Font d'en Carròs, and those of Josep Faus d'Ador who, at the end of his life, had achieved a solid heritage and projected the lineage to the nobility. This study is a journey into the historical development of the lords and counts of Ròtova and their network of relatives: in their businesses, purchase of vassal places (Favara, Benirredrà, Ròtova), marriages of convenience and alliances not tolerated, requests of privileges, but also the other side of the coin: the anti-lordship struggle. The content is framed in an extensive chronological period in order to learn about the history of the counts during the 19th and 20th centuries.
