In 1967 T. W. Adorno gave a lecture at the University of Vienna that is not only of historical interest. Faced with the rise of neo-Nazis in the 60s, he analyzed the goals, means and tactics of the new extreme right of his time. He compared it to the "old" fascism and wondered why twenty years after the end of the war it reached that predicament. A lot has changed since then, but some things haven't. Or even that they have returned. This is why this book can be read as a "message in a bottle". In the epilogue, Volker Weiss explains its extraordinary significance today, when the extreme right is once again a threat.
