Why do Valencians have a lower per capita incomes than in the rest of Spain? Why is the average wage lower than the Spanish one? Why is unemployment higher? Why is there more poverty and social exclusion? Why is healthcare, education and social services of poorer quality than the average of the autonomous communities? And why do we receive a lower financing if we are poorer than the average? Why are the infrastructures still having a radial logic centered on the zero kilometer in Madrid?Who benefits from all this? Where is the proclaimed solidarity and equality among the citizens of the state? Who rises the voice before this injustice? Is the Valencian society actually a 'happy Levante'? In this essay —written for non-specialized audience with willingness to fight— some structural problems that the majority of Valencians suffer are analyzed and criticized: the invisibilization that the media and that spanish politicians perform, the corruption, the the productive model focused on the tile, poverty, underfinancing, the subordination of Valencian speakers, the so-called 'Valencian power', etc., and some alternatives to the current situation are proposed.
