In the sixties, in one of the most tense moments of the Cold War, the American diplomat Timothy Towell is assigned as vice consul in Valencia. Its mission will be to report on the stability of the regime and on the activities of clandestine groups opposed to the Franco dictatorship. However, he will find a much more complex political situation than he had imagined.

The vice consul is a non-fiction story that combines several narrative techniques that place it between journalistic reporting and a spy novel. Everything that is told is real. And that's why this story is even more amazing.

Xavier Serra
Born in 1967, he is the literary director of the "Moment-Memorialística" collection of the Alfons el Magnànim Institution and a doctor of philosophy. He has published, among other books, "La tertúlia de Joan Fuster" (2012), "La filosofia en la cultura Catalana" (2013), four volumes of the "Biografies parcials" series (2009, 2011, 2015 and 2018) and, recently, in this collection, the novel "Espurna" (2021).
