2008. Pròleg d'Agustí Colomines, 396 pp.

This book analyses the political experience in an autonomous Catalonia in the long period of nationalist government. From a research carried out for a doctoral thesis, the author raises a historical methodological approach, from the conviction that it can contribute to integrating a vision perhaps too fragmentary and at the same time stereotypical on that stage which has often generically called ‘pujolinism’. Thus, the book tries to give answer to some questions on how the Catalan institutions have been defined, consolidated, acted and interacted after Franco’s regime: who made possible their recovery, the debates that accompanied their definition, their characteristics and, above all, why and how this stage of consolidation and institutional and political development so important for the country has been carried out with the leadership uninterrupted of a single political force, the coalition – and then federation – Convergència i Unió. These are some of the questions to which this book answers, knowing, from the beginning, that the answers will be partial, complex and subject to objections, although they bear new questions more suggestive and ambitious.
