Joan Fuster i Ortells has been one of the valencian intelectuals more importants in history, Fuster didn’t tell us «what to think» but «in what to think». In what did valencians have to think? In the language, the country, the countries, the modernization of a backwards society and the construction of its own national subject. This theoretical corupus is what we call «fusterianism». Like all inetellectual thinking, here the historical context is fundamental. All influence and reception aren’t a static element but dynamic. The impact of whichever intellectual is circumscribed to a historical moment. This book analizes the influence of the national thinking of Joan Fuster in the different political cultures in the Catalan Countries between 1962 and 1992. He does it from a very conrcrete concept «political culture». Overcoming the margins in wich the political science places the term, the historical conception of this services the author to refollow cronologically the impact of the concepts like «Catalan Counties», «catanalitism», «valencianity», or «regionalisms», among others. The fusterian influence was much more transversal than it is often thought. In front conceptions like «the history of the ideas», Antoni Rico poses the analysis of «the ideas in history» starting from the premise that the receptuin doesn’t mean assumption. Fuser impacted everyone, in a society that needed new ideas, new plans, new approaches. The anti-francoists decreed it holy and the regime criminalized it. The Transition and the autonomy did the rest.
