History and tragedy. Regarding Jewish Catalans does not include new contributions to the history of our collective past. From the Macrohistory to the Microhistory —in somewhat a dizzying zoom— this book is a reflection on the concepts handled by historians when they write history. When this concepts are examined with detail, convictions disappear. Nowadays, we tend to consider history as a narrative that outlines the first signs of the past to explain the present, but it can also be made from the elements of a tragedy, as in this case. This brings out even more the retrospective of the historical reality. The only certainty is the real people who lived these facts and the stubborn power of their mental and cultural configuration  —in the form of religious, moral and customary ideas— that brought them to their individual and collective destinies.
