A peu de foto is a singular book, where the pictures and the writings create a sharp and at the same time soft environment. For some moths, between 2010 and 2011, photographer Francesc Vera and writer Xavier Serra opened a blog where they published weekly, with strict punctuality and considerable success, the pictures and the titles now included in this volume of the collection ‘Literatures’. In this origin, still not common in editing, stands out A peu de foto in photography catalogues and in common books illustrated posteriori. Something in between short narration and the journalistic column and between photographic essay and report, it does a clear, clever and sometimes mercilessly sarcastic summary of topics that go from smugglers to the ‘roders to the messiness of student’s flats or the inexplicable proliferation of museum. The careful composition of the pictures is never cold and the cleverness, without pedantry, is combined with the thin touches of humour.
