This book is a radiography of the life of the Universitat de València in a special and irreplaceable as the Spanish Civil War, when the classes had to take professors from the whole country and Valencia was (50 years ago now) the capital of the Second Republic. The study gets to the smallest details about the role of this events and shows thoroughly who was each one who signed the ignominious act of the possession of the university by the victorious Franco’s troops, ruled by the columnist Manuel Batlle Vázquez. Salvert Fabiani allows the following of the vicissitudes by the scholars, professors, assistants and administrative personnel from the university during the 30s, the war and the 40s, the hardest era of repression from Franco’s regime.
