Valencian Way from Ernest Lluch (first edition, 1976) began the maturity stage of the studies on Valencian economy. In the second edition (2001) – which fully respected the original text, although it added an interesting later work of the author – the reader obtained an abundant information on the bases in which the Valencian economy settled in the last quarter of a century, in addition to numerous thoughtful and research suggestions, many of which seem incredibly current. Now, we present the third revised edition. Already the title has made a fortune because it suggests that each country paves their own paths in history, and we, Valencians, aren’t an exception. From the contributions of the book, highlights the new paradigm of interpretation of the Valencian economy according to the fact that the intensity of growth and structural transformations, since the 1960s, was unquestionable, and that prominence of the process belonged to the SMEs. This paradigm made it possible to make, later, the great lines of industrial policy of the first government of the ‘Generalitat’. The book of Lluch is accompanied by an introduction that places the author and the work in its historical context; by an epilogue that tries to explain what has happened in the 27 years that separates us from the first edition; and by an extensive bibliography of reference, all in charge of Vicent Soler.
